Travellers to Australia must have a valid visa prior to their departure. Applying for a visa on arrival is not possible. (New Zealand and Norfolk Island passport holders are exempted and will be issued a visa on arrival in Australia.)
For more information on how to apply for a visa, please visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website. Please allow for sufficient time to process your visa application. Processing may take between 4–6 weeks depending on the country of origin.
Please note that strict quarantine regulations are enforced at Australian airports. When entering Australia you will have to surrender all fresh food, animal and plant products and any unprocessed food.
The climate of the Blue Mountains is somewhat more temperate than the Sydney region. Average temperatures in September range from 5°C to 15°C, with around 5-8 days of rain on average. Local weather forecasts can be obtained from the Bureau of Metereology.
